Tea at the Halekulani

Waikiki's beautiful Halekulani hotel hosts a lovely high tea. You can pick the quiet and intimate room overlooking the garden or the Orchids veranda with its breathtaking views of Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach. Personally, I love the veranda. The tables are angled so you can see the sparkling water and catch a glimpse of the canoes riding the waves back to shore.

The tea selection is impressive! The Halekulani Orchid Blend is one of their signature teas, a black tea with Hawaiian vanilla and cornflowers. If you are in the mood for something herbal, I recommend the Jardin Rouge. A rooibos tea with hints of strawberry, grapefruit, and vanilla. It smells divine!

The tea service includes a sweet little basket filled with poppy seed muffins, a tier of deserts, fragrant currant scones with Devonshire cream, and my favorite, lemon curd. The tea sandwiches are served with local ingredients and are delightful.

It's an excellent place for a baby or wedding shower, or just time with a friend to catch up. You can even add champagne to your tea service for that special birthday celebration. Enjoy!
