If you are ever in London, make sure you book a tour of Kensington Palace and save time for High Tea at The Pavilion. Visiting the palace was one of the highlights of our trip. There was a gorgeous photograph of Princess Diana and a cute picture of William and Harry playing the piano with Harry perched on Diana's lap in the foyer when you first entered the palace tour.
The Pavilion is adjacent to the palace and right next to Princess Diana's favorite Sunken Garden. In August, the garden had beautiful white roses and yellow daisies spread through each tier. The arbors adorned with vines of ivy, creating a lush canopy along the pathway to The Pavilion veranda. White columns and lit sconces line the veranda with small exquisitely set tables neatly arranged along each side. We had a lovely spot overlooking the greenery of the garden, and we were treated like royalty.
Our tea choices at The Pavilion included such favorites at The Royal London Blend and Afternoon at the Palace. There was a lovely array of tea sandwiches and orange-scented scones with luxury clotted cream and jam. The top tier of our amazing high tea tray held tea cakes that were almost too pretty to eat.
I enjoyed this time with my daughter as we chatted about the highlights of London and planned for the few days we had left in this fantastic city. To slow down for just a moment and take in all that was around us, allowed the memory to truly sink in and made me so grateful for this experience with my children.
