Tea Cupboard Meets Lazy Susan!

joanneshimada

A few months back, I showed you my disastrous tea cupboard. Finding the proper tea for the right moment with God was not easy. I just had to find a solution to this mess.

Enter the Lazy Susan!

If you are a history buff, you'll know that Thomas Jefferson invented this brilliant idea. Back then, it was called the "Dumb Waiter." In any event, it turned cupboard chaos into organized bliss.

With the idea in my head now, I had to figure out how I would pull it together—next stop internet search. It wasn't long when I got all kinds of gadgets and ideas for this turntable. I ended up buying a set of 4 2.8 inch Lazy Susan turntable, 5/16 thick, for $7.99. Beautiful!

Now I need something round that will grip the turntable and fit in my cupboard. A trip to Target solved that issue where I found some small dessert plates in the homeware section that had a rough, unfinished base. When you gently turn the plate to peruse your tea selection, it doesn't slip! I picked up a couple of cute bowls to match. They worked out well for some extra teabags that I have floating around.

As you can see in the pic, the result is a perfectly organized and easy system for finding the most delightful tea for the most special time of the day - TeaTime.

Tid Bit (as we say down under): You can find the Lazy Susan turntable on Amazon.

One more thing: I used the other two turntables for my cooking spices. Brilliant!
